Our Founders Day festival Altar

Reverend Master Myoho as Celebrant

Reverend Master Myoho writes:

On November the 6th we celebrated our Founders Day. This year was the 20th anniversary of Reverend Master Jiyu's death. In gratitude to our Founder we are offering two articles that she wrote, and which I have found to be inspirational. The  Ketchimyaku: Bloodline of the Buddhas article, was taken from a talk that was given whilst Reverend Master was upon the altar during a Jukai ceremony, where lay people receive the Buddhist Precepts.

We are pleased to include an introductory piece to The Water of the Spirit article, written by Reverend Master Zensho Roberson, who teaches and trains with our Sangha in Idaho USA. He is a senior disciple of Reverend Master Jiyu, and trained at Shasta Abbey at the same time as Reverend Master Myoho. We are grateful to him for letting us offer it here.

Reverend Master Jiyu-Kennett is the Founder of our Order and of The Place of Peace Dharma House. She passed into parinirvana 18 years ago this November and an article called The Truth Speaks For Itself, It Sings Its Own Song has been added to our Dharma Articles page as an offering of gratitude to her.
